The Cornish Federation of Teachers has existed for over 30 years and its accomplishments have been immense. We are local # 4169 of the American Federation of Teachers, Washington State and the CFT is the bargaining representative for all Cornish faculty, whatever your status (Core, Ranked Adjunct, Interim, Affiliate, or Adjunct) and whether or not you are a dues-paying member.
Over the decades and through the vigilance and dedication of committed leaders and members of the CFT the working life of all Cornish faculty has been transformed compared to what it was when we were identified as the lowest paid college faculty in the nation in the Chronicle of Higher Education in 1998. We have more autonomy and control over our working lives—professionalism, pay nearly commensurate with peers, and official participation in the academic & economic decisions of the College.
